August will be quite an eventful month in Las Vegas. With two premier trade shows taking place − ASD and MAGIC − there will be plenty of opportunities to network and learn what companies have in store for the next coming months. We’ll let you know what to expect at both events and how to prepare for success.
ASD Las Vegas Expo

Thousands of retailers make the ASD expo their home twice a year. The ASD Las Vegas expo will take place from August 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The expo allows merchants from several different industries to showcase their newest products to independent retailers, department stores, boutiques, and more.

The ASD expo will have a new show added into the mix this year called SOURCEDIRECT. SOURCEDIRECT will enable wholesalers, distributors, and developers to meet face to face with contract manufacturers from all over the world, allowing them to source products directly from the factories producing them. Manufacturers will be showcasing a wide range of products including:

  • Toys and gifts
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Seasonal items
  • Novelty gifts
  • Housewares
  • Consumer electronics
  • Beauty products
  • General merchandise
  • Office supplies

Big name companies such as Amazon.com, JC Penney, Zappos.com, and many more will be in attendance as buyers. Some notable exhibitors include Cajole, 3 AM, and Four Seasons Apparel. The event is not open to the public. Registration is free for qualified buyers if you sign up before the show opens; otherwise it is $25. Exhibitors can register here.

MAGIC Tradeshow

MAGIC Market Week is all about fashion. Industry professionals visit the event to get information, trade, preview new and upcoming trends, build relationships, and to shop. This is an international event that has thousands of attendees from well over 80 countries. Exhibitors include newly emerging companies as well as established brands.

The event will be organized into several different showrooms:

  • FN Platform
  • The tents @ PROJECT

MAGIC has been a very successful event in the past, generating around $200 million in sales per day. MAGIC produces more business than all other fashion trade show events, attracting 67% of the top buying teams in the world. There is no shortage of opportunity to shine for fashion retailers.

MAGIC Market Week will take place August 19-21 at both the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Being Prepared

Both of these events are massive. Because of this, it is important that attendees are amply prepared to make the most of them.
