With distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing plants and outlets across Poland as well as in Hungary, Dajar is Central Europe’s biggest wholesaler of housewares and garden furniture.  The company carries thousands of products from some of the world’s best-known brands, including Disney, Luminarc, Pyrex, Rubbermaid, Arcuisine, Arcoroc, Curver, Vileda and many more.

Challenges

Having used a Palm-based solution for several years to process some 20,000 orders a month, Dajar needed a more robust, efficient and user friendly system to manage its large team of regional sales managers and sales reps. They were also looking for advanced features that would help increase the average size of their orders.

Dajar’s wish list included upselling and cross-selling capabilities; discounts and special offers; pricing policies to support fast-moving goods; multi-currency options; and the ability to set and track targets per sales rep according to main product category. Seamless integration to its ERP was another requirement.

Last but not least, the solution had to be easy to implement. As many of the reps were very comfortable using the current system, Dajar’s management knew that if the new software was not intuitive and did not quickly deliver better results, the reps would not adopt it.

Nothing on the market met the company’s complex requirements.

Solution

Pepperi's business partner in Poland, Velg Sp. z o.o, presented Pepperi to Dajar’s management. Their sales reps were then given the option to use the current system or Pepperi for a month, so as not to lose productivity.  After one week, the overwhelming majority had chosen to switch to Pepperi

Dajar’s reps can now easily upsell and cross-sell products using special offers (all of which are fully customized by the sales manager and require no technical expertise) such as:

  • Packages: buy pre-defined package and get a certain number of items for free
  • Bonus items: buy item(s) and get the same or different item(s) for free
  • Value-based package: spend over a certain amount from a given list of items and get bonus items
  • Special offers built into catalog: e.g. buy one, get one free; buy a second item at 50% off

By clicking a button at the top of the screen, users can see all special offers available.

Sales managers can also assign different pricing policies to fast-moving items and manage discount policies, including defining formulas based on options such as: when there is both an item discount and an account discount, apply the higher of the two.

Pepperi’s reports and analytics capabilities allow management to always be on top of the sales team’s performance, with the ability to track targets per sales rep according to main product category. Quick delivery support for fast-moving items ensures that the location of an item is always known.  

Approximately 60 of Dajar's sales reps are now equipped with Pepperi’s app, generating more than 10,000 orders a month.
